"I bought this book for my grandchildren, and they loved it. They nothing about bees before they received the book and now they are really interested in what bees "do" ~ it has become one of their favourite books and i thoroughly recomend it for other grandparents (or of course, parents and friends ) to buy. The illustrations are easy to understand and complement the story in a delightful way".

"I recommend this book because it enables children to have a better understanding of the world around them . I have always thought that if education and fun can be combined then that is the batle won. The author has done this splendidly witht he tale of a bee in the English countryside and he labours through a year in the world of a bee, the dangers and perils of honey collection and keeping it safe from would be theives. Books of this kind are to be recommmended as they help to get then children interested in the natural world from which humans seem to be slowly isolating themselves."

"A delightful little book that is perhaps more educational that its author's modest admission. The individual stories/ seasons are short enought to hold the attention, but not so short as to insult a child's interest and curiousity. It reads out loud beautifully, and provides fun for the parent whilst reading it because of the lovely use of language and sound"
